Last night before bed, I was already thinking of what to have for breakfast. I think breaky is my favourite meal-time because it is the only time that you can have pretty much anything to eat and it is socially acceptable. 😉 Leftover dessert? Cold pizza? … UH… YEAH!
I’ve been craving chocolate lately, and found a healthy way to incorporate it into a breakfast smoothie.
ENTER Chlorophyll. It’s the molecule that gives plants their green colour and it plays the most important role in photosynthesis where plants use sunlight to create energy and fuel known to us as glucose.
The benefits of Chlorophyll:
* Cleansing, alkalizing, detoxifying
* Helps build blood cells
* Increases oxygen uptake in blood
* Antioxidant properties
* Deodorizes body and can act as mouthwash!
Here are the deets
* 1.5 cups unsweetened Almond milk
* 1 banana
* 2 tsp raw cocoa powder
* 1/2 tsp ea chia and hemp seeds (ground)
* 1 scoop hemp protein powder
* 1 tsp maca powder
* 1 tsp liquid chlorophyll
** Blend all these lovely ingredients together to your hearts content!
** My liquid chlorophyll contains spearmint so naturally chocolate and mint go so VERY well together.
